The following is a PhotoStory, which I created by using Audacity and Windows Movie Maker. I read a passage from Sharon G. Flake's short story, "So I Ain't No Good Girl," and enhanced the meaning of the text with images from google, a song from opsound. org, and sound effects extracted from findsounds.com. By making a photostory, students will be close reading the text and attaching images and sound effects to the words. They will be bringing the text alive with their own voice and interpretation. This project may also be done in a variety of ways. For example, instead of attaching images from google, students may be asked to take pictures with their own cameras, upload, and transfer them to the photostory. Students may also be asked to only embed paintings or drawings, instead of photographs.
